When you’re hanging out on Geneva, you can see who else is also currently online. This makes it a little easier to strike up a casual conversation or pop into a video or audio room together.

Note: this is currently only available on iPhone and web/Desktop. Coming soon to Android!

Seeing who’s online

You can see who’s online in a few different places across the app...

• In DM’s, you’ll see a 🟢 next to the person’s photo/name when they’re online
• Within a group, just below the group’s name, you can see a count of how many people are online

• On the web or desktop app, within a group, you’ll see a list of who’s online in the right-side room members panel

• On the mobile apps, you can look at the group members list or a specific room members list to see who’s online (to see a room’s member list, tap into the room and then swipe from right to left, or tap into the room, then tap the room’s name at the top to open the room menu, then hit ‘Members’)

  

Controlling your online status

Sometimes you might want to be “on” Geneva but not have other people see that you’re present. You can hide your online status by...

• iPhone
  1. In the bottom left corner of your side menu, press your profile photo to bring up your account menu
  2. Flip the “Show online status” button to “off”
• Web
  1. In the bottom left corner of your window, press your profile photo to bring up your account menu
  2. Click “Online status”
  3. Select “Offline”

If you hide your online status indicator, it’ll stay “Off” until you manually go back in and turn it back on
